Loving husband, father, and missionary Bruce Ian Renich, 78, went to be with Jesus on July 11, 2025, after caring for his wife with her illness for several years and then courageously battling his own illness for over two years. Born in Toronto, Canada on April 9, 1947, to Edward and Hazel (nee Borth) Renich, he spent his youth throughout the American Midwest states. He was the second eldest of 10 children, all of whom he loved greatly.
Bruce met the delight and love of his life, Retta, at Moody Bible Institute, and together they served in Papua New Guinea as missionaries from 1973 to 2018. He enjoyed studing, reading, and teaching, and served in many leadership roles both overseas and in Illinois. He loved his three children, Nathan, Joshua, and Michelle, along with their spouses and his eleven grandchildren.
Bruce will be honored at a celebration of life service at Village Church of Barrington, 1600 E. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL 60010 on Saturday, October 11th. Visitation at 10:00am, Service at 11:00am, and luncheon following at the church from 12-2pm.
In lieu of flowers, the Renich family would be honored if you would donate to the students at Christian Leaders Training College (CLTC), the Bible college that Bruce and Retta served over the last 40 years. If you would like to donate, please make payment to: Village Church of Barrington (VCB), with a note referencing CLTC, 1600 E. Main St., Barrington, IL 60010
