Bruce Albert Ruttan II, passed away peacefully in Royal Oak, Michigan, on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. He was born on February 2, 1975, in Port Huron, Michigan, the cherished son of the late Bruce and Ella Ruttan. Bruce's life was a testament to his strength, humor, and dedication.
From a young age, Bruce displayed an unmatched work ethic, which led him to a fulfilling career as a mason worker. His hands shaped more than stone and mortar; they built a legacy of integrity and craftsmanship that stood as strong as the structures he helped create. Colleagues admired his dedication and skill, while friends and family knew him as the man who could always be relied upon for support or a well-timed joke.
Bruce's love for his dogs was unparalleled. He believed in the loyalty and companionship that only a canine friend could provide. His pets were not just animals but cherished members of his family. Bruce's face would light up with joy at the mere wag of a tail, and his laughter was most heartfelt when shared with his four-legged companions.
To say that Bruce was funny would be an understatement. His quick wit and infectious laugh brought smiles to all who knew him. He had a knack for storytelling, and his sense of humor was a beacon of light, even on the cloudiest days. Bruce's jokes and playful banter were the highlights of many gatherings, leaving a legacy of laughter in their wake.
Bruce's life was one of purpose and laughter, of hard work and love for his animals. He left an indelible mark on the world, not through grand gestures, but through the everyday moments of joy and dedication he so generously shared. Bruce's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories told and retold by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
As we bid farewell to Bruce Albert Ruttan II, we celebrate a life lived with laughter, a career built with care, and a love for dogs that knew no bounds. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us to find joy in the simple pleasures and to approach each day with a kind heart and a ready joke. Bruce's journey through life was one of joy and companionship, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.
A graveside service will be held on Friday August 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Algonac.
