Bruce Smiley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery - Scottsdale on Apr. 24, 2024.
Bruce P. Smiley, a cherished husband, devoted father and devoted friend to all. Passed away peacefully on April 13th, 2024. Born on July 3, 1943, on the South side of Chicago, Illinois, Bruce was the loving son of Max M. Smiley and Evelyn B. Smiley.
Bruce's life was a testament to love, compassion, and adventure. He was a dedicated husband to his beloved wife Cheryl L. Smiley for the past thirty years, with whom he shared countless memories. Together, they built a life filled with lasting love, navigating life's ups and downs with unwavering love and support for one another.
As a father, Bruce's love knew no bounds. He was immensely proud of his son, Brian S. Smiley, and his daughter-in-law Laura C. Smiley. Bruce was the beloved stepfather to Andrea L. Weaver and Steven J. Weaver, whom he lovingly embraced as his own.
In remembrance, we also honor Bruces late son, Michael T. Smiley whose memory he cherished deeply and Francis R. Smiley who preceded him in death. Though they are no longer with us, their memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved them.
In addition, Bruce leaves behind his siblings, Irwin C. Smiley, Stephen J. Smiley, and Linda L. Smiley, whose lives he touched. Bruce and his siblings always made time to reached out to one another to recognize the Jewish holidays throughout the year.
Bruce was a great man with a kind heart. He loved and cherished his pets, having companionship brought him great comfort and happiness.
Papa's legacy will live on through his six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and his presence in their lives will be deeply missed.
Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. Rest in peace, Bruce P. Smiley.
