Bruce Wait Stoughton

Bruce Stoughton, 82, of South Carolina, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 21, 2022. Bruce was born in Berkshire, NY on February 16, 1940, a son of the late Harry and Mary (Rockwell) Stoughton. He was one of ten children. Bruce graduated from Newark Valley High School, and later Broome Community College. Bruce was a long-time employee of IBM, and a faithful member of Hyde Park United Methodist Church in New York followed by Christ United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
In his free time, Bruce enjoyed attending men s bible study, bowling, making hats for less fortunate children, attending all of his grandchildren s activities, and playing words with friends. Those that knew Bruce, know that he was a man of few words. His actions spoke volumes daily. His heart was pure and full of love.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 45 years Donna Stoughton; his brothers: Robert Stoughton, George (Marilyn) Stoughton, and John (Joan) Stoughton; his 6 children: Beth Ann Stoughton, Gina Stoughton Sentell, David Stoughton, Michael Stoughton, Richard Campbell, and David Campbell; 12 beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Bruce was predeceased by his parents, sisters Anna and Ruth; and his brothers H. William, Richard, James, and an infant brother Alan.
The entire family would like to extend thanks to all who have visited and shared their love for Bruce and Donna.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, September 16th, 2022 from 3-6 pm at C3 Coffee Bar. The address is 1701 Church St. Conway, SC 29526. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to St Jude s.
