On February 4, 2025, at 7:24 a.m., the Lord took Bryan's hand and led him home after living 10 years with Early Onset Alzheimer's. Bryan was born on December 22, 1964 on a cold snowy day in Granger, Utah. He was raised in Kearns, which is where he met his wife of 41 years, Lisa. Bryan and Lisa married on November 4, 1983 at the young age of 16 and 18. They had three kids together; Jayson, Justin, and Bryanna. Bryan loved the outdoors and couldn't wait to share that love with his kids.
Bryan lived for the days he was able to see his kids and grandkids. He loved his Harley and would go on bike rides before the disease took that away from him. He enjoyed being outdoors, in his spare time you could find him hiking, fishing, hunting, or horseback riding. When the skies started rumbling, he would grab a beer and a lawn chair and sit out front under the awning to watch the lightning strike.
Bryan was so smart and very talented; he could do anything he wanted to. He was the best handyman who could fix any electrical, plumbing, or automotive issues. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop and he built each of his kids a bedframe, rocking chairs, wooden trucks, and any other piece of furniture that they requested. He dreamt of an in-home wet bar and brought it to life, and it was even better in reality.
Bryan would wake up with the sun and grab his coffee during the weekdays and head outside to enjoy his little piece of land in Emery County. On Sundays, he had his bible in hand and was ready to go to Desert Edge and spend time in the Word. Bryan gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized.
Bryan's idea of a vacation was taking backroads with no destination. He loved exploring, finding old ghost towns, and stopping to walk around the old cemeteries along the way. Bryan was a humble man and he didn't want much, but he sure enjoyed life.
In 2014, Bryan began to notice his memory fading more than the average person. He was missing turns on a road he drove regularly and forgetting details at the job he worked for 26 years. Dr. Potter here in Price, Utah listened to our concerns and began testing for Alzheimer's. He sent us up to the city to see a Neurologist who quickly dismissed us once they saw how healthy and young Bryan appeared to be despite test results. They said he needed more sleep and a job with a better work schedule. In 2018, our small-town doctor pushed to have Neurology take this seriously and order a PET scan, finally we got the answer we were dreading, it was a definitive diagnosis of progressed Early Onset Alzheimer's. Bryan continued to decline over the years, until his wife Lisa could no longer care for him on her own. They packed up what they could and moved to Las Vegas to stay with their daughter and future son-in-law where Bryan would finish out his days playing day in and day out with his young grandkids.
He celebrated his 60th birthday this past December. He was a wonderful loving husband and amazing father to his three kids and a goofy pops to his eight grandkids. Bryan's mind was going 100 miles an hour. He was so tired in his final days; he went to rest in the arms of Jesus. Alzheimer's may have claimed him, but it didn't define him.
Bryan is survived by his wife, Lisa of Lawrence; sons, Jayson of Eagle Mountain, Justin (Natasha) of Ferron; daughter, Bryanna (Bau) of Las Vegas; grandsons, Ashtyn, Brayden, Oliver, and Luke; granddaughters, Libertie, Kenzlee, Leena, and Olivia; his mom, Marilyn Bennett of Kearns; father, Neal Allred; sisters, Janeal (Heather) of West Jordan, Doreen of Boise; and brother, Ron (Kathy) of Magna.
Bryan was preceded in death by his step-father, (Dad) Marv Bennett.
A viewing will be held at Miller's Landing-Mitchell Funeral Home (123 North Main Street) in Huntington, UT on February 14th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral service, Saturday, February 15, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at Desert Edge Christian Church (500 S Main St) in Huntington, Utah with a viewing one hour prior to service. Burial will be at the Huntington Cemetery (585 N 400 W) following the services.
