It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Bryan Wade Nichols, 52, of Huntsville, Alabama. He left this world to be with our Lord on September 7, 2025. Born November 16, 1972, Bryan grew up in Huntsville and graduated from Grissom High School in 1991. He earned a degree in Professional Geography from The University of North Alabama in 2001. He married his college sweetheart, Veronica Schelles of Double Springs, Alabama, in 2004, and they have two sons, Chandler, 16, and Landon, 10.

Bryan served many years of his career as a Geographic Information System (GIS) Data Analyst. He shared his lifelong love of geography with his sons, often quizzing them about maps and places around the globe. As much as he loved exploring the world through data, Bryan was happiest at home, surrounded by his family. He enjoyed engaging others with interesting facts during friendly debates, homeschooling his sons, teaching math, logic and other schoolwork. He also loved leading his family through daily devotions to deepen their faith in God.

Proverbs 4:13 says "Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life." Bryan lived this through his constant pursuit of knowledge. He often read textbooks just for fun. Beyond his full-time career, he earned both a real estate license and a home builder's license. He also taught himself to play the guitar, evidence of his nonstop curiosity and drive to learn.

An optimist at heart, Bryan always strived to find a silver lining, even in tough situations, and he had a remarkable way of seeing the best in everyone. His faith in God was the foundation of his kindness and the love he showed to those around him.

Bryan is survived by his wife, Veronica, her mother, father, step-mother and step father, and their two sons. He is also survived by his mother Shirley Nichols, his sister Sherry Buckingham and her husband Jack, his sister Talitha Brooks and her husband Terry, his brother Evan, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bryson Wilemon, his brother, Jerry Wilemon and his niece, Grace Brooks.
A visitation will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, September 12, at Whitesburg Baptist South Campus, 7300 Whitesburg Drive, Huntsville, Alabama. A Life Celebration Service will follow at 1:00pm. Bryan was very passionate about mission work, so in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to WhitesburgBaptist.org/give.
