Bryan Andrew Smith, 26, of Indianola, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022 near Indianola. Funeral services will be Friday, June 10, at the McAlester Expo Center at 2:00 p.m. with Ronnie Smith officiating Burial will follow at Crowder Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler McCoy, Tyler "Wid" Whittington, Mitch Lemons, Kiel Talbert, Hunter Needham, Coalton Carano, Jared Sweetin, and Clint Parker. Honorary pallbearers are his oil field family.
Bryan Smith was born on January 8, 1996 in McAlester to Doyle Smith, jr. and Edith (Long) Smith. He grew up here and has lived here all his life. He attended Savanna High School where he played on the Savanna football team, graduating in 2014. He immediately joined his brother working in the oil fields. Growing up, Bryan was involved in the Boy Scouts. He also liked to hunt and fish, including bow-fishing, and was a huge fan of OSU football. For Bryan, his family came first. Family time was special for Bryan, especially messing around with his best friend and brother, Matthew.
Bryan is survived by his parents, Doyle and Edith Smith; a daughter, Tinsley Smith; a sister and brother-in-law, Emily Parker and Clint; a sister-in-law, Julie Smith; grandparents, Sharon and Jack Whisenhunt, and Jenny Snider; nephews, Tristen Parker and Rhett Smith; a niece, Emersyn Parker; a special cousin, Kelli Hilliard; and numerous other cousins, aunts, and uncles; and additional family members, Heath Dalmont, Tyler McCoy, and Jared Sweetin. He was preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Smith; grandfather, Estes Long; and uncles, John Long and Ed Tadlock.
