Bryan Harley Yates passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2025 in Plano, Texas at the age of 56. Bryan was born on September 11, 1969 in Dallas, Texas, and was a devoted son, loving father and grandfather and touched more lives than we can count.
To say Bryan was full of laughter and joy is likely an understatement. With his quick wit and crazy sense of humor, he had a gift for making others smile, even on their hardest days.
He was a deeply gifted artist and saw the world with a different appreciation than most. Whether through drawing, painting, or photography, he was able to capture those things so others could appreciate them as well. His creativity, his warmth, his humor and his genuine kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He was a giver and never met a stranger. He was a giver of his time, of his craft, of his love and, in the end, a giver of life to others. In true Bryan fashion, he saved three lives with his donation. He leaves a legacy that his family will proudly honor and cherish until we meet again.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Charles Robert “Bob” Yates. He is survived by his mother, Helen Laverne Yates; his daughter, Shawna Rene Darland, and husband, Casey Miles Coventry; granddaughter Ava Marie White; and grandson Ryan Lee Coventry. Bryan has an extended family of cousins nieces and nephews. Beth Collins and her sons Tyler and Brandon, her daughter Amber and her husband, Dusty Brooks, and their children Emma and Lyla; his uncle Roy Perkins and his sons Kevin and wife Leann, Greg and wife Robbi, and Clint and wife Kari.
