Buddy Donald "Don" Jones, 84, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at his residence.
Born on May 29, 1941, in Kennett, MO, he was the son of the late Theatus Jones and Mary Florence Jones Johnson (Pittman).
Don proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed duck hunting and fishing. He was a member of the St. Francis Bass Masters and the Poplar Bluff Rod and Custom Car Club.
Don had a passion for aviation and was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), where he built and flew ultralight airplanes. He also loved riding motorcycles, building hot rods, and participating in drag and sprint car racing. He owned and operated Don's Fiberglass Repair.
On February 25, 1972 he married Nancy Vernon Jones. She survives. Also surviving are two children: Brian (Cindy) Jones of Derby, KS and Terry Jones of Paducah, KY; four grandchildren: Kaylea Brokering, Lauryn Jones, Nathan Jones, and Emilie Ballard; and one great-grandson: Brock Ballard. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister: Bonetha Landreth.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev Jim Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Ash Hill Cemetery East in Fisk. Condolences: www.whitesandersfuneralhome.com
