Buddy Keith Miles

Buddy Keith Miles, 81, was called home to the Lord on July 15, 2025. He was born into the Baptist faith in Martin TN, son of the late James Oliver and Mary Elizabeth (Harper) Miles and graduated from Martin High school in 1961. Buddy attended the University of Tennessee-Martin and the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, earning a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering in 1966. He later earned an Engineering Certification from the State Board of Architectural and Engineering Examiners. Buddy was employed as an engineer at Lockhead Martin in Oak Ridge for more than three decades. He was also a prolific woodworking craftsman and well known for participating in craft fairs across the region; as well as a champion competitive barbecue chef in the Kansas City Barbecue Society. He also enjoyed camping with family, grilling, spending time with family, and was an avid sports enthusiast and supporter of the University of Tennessee Volunteers. Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Phyllis "Oneta" (Brooks) Miles; daughters Keely Michelle Miles and Kimberly Rhea Miles, and son Keith Alexander (Pam) Miles; grandchildren Ryan (Phoenix) Miles, Kelsey Miles, Logan Fritts, Dylan Fritts, and Braden Fritts; great-grandchildren Elaina Miles and Connor Miles; and brother David (Nanette) Miles, and sister Patricia (Mike) Taylor. A family graveside service will be held July 24 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Forest Cemetery in Farragut.
