Buddy Wayne Ransdell, 88, of Colona, passed away March 21, 2025, at his home.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf or to Cancer Research.
Bud was born on November 14, 1936, in Hannibal, Missouri, the son of Joe G. and Mildred “Millie" Ransdell. He married Diane Adele Helstrom on September 2, 1957. She preceded him in death on January 20, 2016. Bud had been employed at Case IH as a tool and die maker, retiring after 42 years. Bud was an avid fisherman; he loved the outdoors and animals. He had many hobbies over the years and loved to build and fix things.
Survivors include his 4 children, Rondi (Jon) Tschopp, Rori (Steve) Vandemore, Ryan (Chris) Ransdell, Robbyn (Jennie) Ransdell and 8 grandchildren, Tori (Eugenio) Signorelli, Tylan (Nicole) Tschopp, Evan (Kaitlyn) Vandemore, Erron (Lydia) Vandemore, Nick (Christy) Ransdell, Russell Ransdell, Dustin (Tara) Ransdell, Colten (Katie) Ransdell; great grandchildren, Kaila, Carson, Claire, Noemi, Chloe, Reese, Elizabeth, and Olivia; brother, Bill (Judy) Ransdell; brother-in-law, Dennis (Donna) Helstrom.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Diane; parents, Joe & Millie; in-laws, Walfrid & Annette Helstrom; sister-in-law, Peggy; and great grandson, Reese Hudson.
