He was born on January 13, 1954, in Humboldt to the late Lester Bud Russell and Betty Jean Casey Russell.
Wayne had such a strong love for his wife, Charlotte, and absolutely admired her in every aspect. He had a strong passion for cooking, especially for his friends and family. Wayne was a lover of all things outdoors including fishing, hunting and admiring his deer that he would feed multiple times each day. Spending time with his family was the most important thing to Wayne. He was a family man who always put everyone before himself and was always there to make sure everyone was taken care of.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Russell and brother, Floyd Russell.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Charlotte Russell of Milan, Tennessee; daughter, Lorie Russell of Jackson, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Abby Sanford (Breven) of Kokomo, Indiana and Emily Stout (Christian) of Kokomo, Indiana; and three great grandchildren, Piper Sanford, Palmer Sanford and Everett Stout.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, September 19, 2025, in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home with Dale Denning officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until the service hour on Friday at the funeral home.
