Bun "John" Suh, age 82, of Skokie, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 8, 2025.

Devoted son of the late Young Wan and Tae Soon, née Kim, Suh. He was born on June 18, 1943, in South Korea. John immigrated to the United States with determination to build a better life, creating a home filled with love, opportunity, and laughter. Through hard work and perseverance, he built a family he cherished deeply.

Beloved husband of Kyung Hye "Helen," née Choi; dear father of Audrey (Joseph) Krolicki, Elizabeth (William Choe) Suh, Michael (Jason Smith) Suh, and James (Leslie Shiau) Suh; loving grandfather of Mila, Andrew, Alexis, Brandon, Madelyn, and Jameson. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

John was an avid golfer, an avid reader of the news, and a man who stayed informed about world events. Every day, he could be found reading the newspaper, eager to understand and discuss what was happening in the world. He was proud of his Korean heritage, proud of his children's accomplishments, and filled with joy by his grandchildren. A great friend to many, he had a sharp wit and a sense of humor that brought laughter to those around him.
