It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Burton Jay Rosenberg, affectionately known as Burt, who left us unexpectedly on October 15, 2024, in San Diego, California. Born on May 1, 1950, in New Jersey, Burt's journey through life began in the vibrant streets of Brooklyn, New York. He later moved to Oceanside, New York, where he established cherished connections that would last a lifetime.
Burt graduated from Oceanside High School in 1968 and pursued higher education with enthusiasm. He attended several colleges before earning his Master of Arts in Psychology from California State University in 1977. With a passion for teaching and a love for knowledge, he dedicated a significant part of his professional life to educating others. However, his heart was equally attuned to music, and he cherished his extensive collection of stereos and vinyl records, reflecting a profound appreciation for the art form.
In his professional career, Burt demonstrated remarkable versatility, working in various roles as a salesman for a multitude of companies—90 in total—until the time of his passing. His ability to connect with people and share his interests left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
Burt's legacy lives on through his beloved family. He is survived by his sister, Sandra Rosenberg Fiedler, his nephew Jason, and two great-nephews. Additionally, he maintained close bonds with his childhood friends Steve from Brooklyn and Andrew from Oceanside, both of whom held a special place in his heart.
Although Burt's life came to a sudden end, the memories he created will continue to resonate with family and friends. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit and contributions to those around him will forever remain in our hearts.
