Buster Booth

Mr. Mordecai Samuel "BUSTER" Booth, Jr., age 86, passed away at his home on Friday, January 30, 2026 following an extended illness.

Born December 25, 1939 in Horry County, he was the son of the late Mordecai Samuel Booth, Sr. and the late Cora Suggs Booth. He was a life-long farmer and worked briefly in his later years at the Jerry Cox Oil Company. Mr. Booth was a member of New Home Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.

In addition to his parents, Buster was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia Hardee Booth; his infant daughter, Jodie Lynn Booth; his brother, Hubert Booth; and his sisters, Thelma Todd and Albertine Booth.

Survivors include his daughter of Hartsville, Julie Ann Booth; his nephew, Lundy Booth; his nieces, Loretta Gerald (Larry), Jeanette McNeal, Phyllis Causey, Karen Benton (Bill), and Angie Woodward (Dickie); and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to his very special caregivers, Maranda and Cynthia.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. David Watts, will be held at 12:00PM Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Cane Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Loris, SC.
