Buster Buxton Obituary
Mr. Buxton, 81, of Glenmora, entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, LA.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing, and he especially loved listening to deer hounds run. He loved watching football and basketball and had a special love for NASCAR. Buster was a proud United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Merlie and Bessie Buxton; three brothers, Edmond Buxton, JR Buxton, and Cless Buxton; and two sisters, Alice LeJeune and Maebelle Kartchner.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his wife, Diane Marie Buxton of Glenmora; one son, Scott Buxton (Chloe) of Napoleonville; two daughters, Bridget Loland (Darrin) of Sevierville, Tennessee, and Shelly Ezell (John) of Pineville; one brother, Robert Buxton (Cheryl) of Rogers, Arkansas; three sisters, Mattie Stermer of Krotz Springs, Pernie Vickers of Zachary, and Ethel Varnado of Zachary; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and his best friend, Eddie Fee of Glenmora.
A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale, on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Brian Lovejoy, Blackfoot Willis, Lamar Dousay, Bill Fee, Coley Stockman, and Hank Fee. Honorary pallbearers will be Garrett Ezell and members of Local #406.
