Bynum H. Phillips

Bynum H. Phillips III, 61 of Naples, FL, passed away on August 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 21, 1963, to parents Bynum and Jerry Phillips in Kannapolis, North Carolina. He attended A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis class of 1982. After high school he attended East Carolina University. Bynum lived in Wilmington, NC for several years pursuing his interest in aviation and became a commercial pilot. He was employed with RAM (Raleigh Air Mail) and Mountain Air Cargo. Later he worked with FedEx and became a captain with ATI (Air Transport International). He is preceded in death by his father, Bynum H. Phillips Jr. He is survived by his mother, Jerry Anne (Meacham) Phillips, his children, Conner Phillips (Laura) of Naples, FL, Grant Phillips of Naples, FL, his brother Robert (Bob) Phillips (Alyce) of Wilmington, NC, his niece Elly Phillips of Columbia, SC and his nephew Jack Phillips of Wilmington, NC. He also leaves behind many special cousins, Jan, Russ, Mark, Phil, Scott, Lisa, Beth and their families. As per the request of the family, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
