Byron “Bunk” Hunter Simmons, age 62, of South Chesterfield, VA passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024. He was the son of the late Emmett Byron Simmons Jr. and the late Agnes Rose Cleaton.
Bunk was a lover of all thing’s music; you could often find him in the garage watching and listening to music on YouTube. He was an avid dirt track racing fan, and enjoyed camping, fishing and cooking (especially on the grill).
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Powell Simmons; children, Brittani Allen (Zacch) of Glen Allen and Brandon Simmons of North Chesterfield; grandchildren, Isaiah Fife, Chase Allen and Londyn Allen; sisters, Christy Connell, Jennifer Poole (Jerry), Chyrel Baird (Nelson), Sonya Churchill, Angie Puryear, and Kimberly Gilbert, brothers, Bill Kennedy (Melinda) and Keith Puryear; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his fur-babies Chilly, Winnie and his special boy, Chief.
A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
A Celebration of Life cookout will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Reedy Creek Hunt Club, 506 Glendale Mill Road, Freeman, VA.
