Calvin Howell Hammons, age 93, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
Born January 10, 1932, in Sanger, Texas, Calvin was the son of Elvy and Mamie (Feagans) Hammons. He married the love of his life, Betty Nowell, and together they shared 72 beautiful years of marriage, raising two children and building a lifetime of love and family.
Calvin served faithfully as a Bailiff for the Tarrant County 231st District Court and previously worked as a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for over 31 years. He was a devoted member of South Main Church of Christ in Weatherford. In his spare time, Calvin enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time with those he loved most.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty L. Hammons; parents, Elvy and Mamie Hammons; siblings, Edith Autry, Doyle Hammons, and Dan Hammons; and grandsons, Mac Allen Hammons and Adam Cooke.
Cherishing his memory are his daughter, Andrea Cooke (John) of Allen, Texas; son, Rex Hammons (Joan) of Weatherford, Texas; granddaughter, Morgan Godby (Jordan); great-grandchildren, Mac and Hank Godby; and beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 30, 2025, at South Main Church of Christ in Weatherford, Texas. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Tyson Cemetery in Denton County.
Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
