Obituary
Calvin Glenn Vincent, Jr.; age 36, passed away October 23, 2023.
Calvin was the beloved husband for 11 years of Leann Vincent; loving father of Henry, Benjamin, Oliver, and Lillianna; dear grandson of the late Doe and the late Hank Salajka and Ted and Sharon Vincent; son of Calvin and Patricia Vincent; brother of Amanda (Mike Withee) Vincent and Cody (Jessica) Vincent; uncle of Jackson, Theodore, Thomas, Troy, Charlotte, Olivia, and Sophia; son-in-law of Kerry and Roberta Wiegand; and brother-in-law of Dean (McKenzie) Wiegand, Anthony (Samantha) Wiegand, and Zachary (Sandra McClain) Wiegand. Calving is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Calvin was the rock that people around him leaned upon to help them through life. He took care of everyone that it was in his ability to help. He was a giver. He gave his time, his energy, his passion and intellect to the people that surrounded him and beyond. One way he did this was through his work. He was the director of operations at Cranbrook Art and Educational Campus. His influence at work touched the lives of countless people that have gone and learned something or experienced something there. He gave so much when he took to coaching baseball, with both the Cranbrook team and a team from Waterford, for many kids including his own and a number of this nephews. He loved nothing more in life than just being a dad to his four beautiful children. He was a master at dad humor, making up funny words and songs for them. Calvin gave them the most precious of our assets in life, time. He always carved out and made time for his kids. He did do a few things for personal enjoyment though. He liked to watch baseball and college football. Rooting on his Detroit Tigers and Michigan Wolverines. He really liked cooking up a good BBQ dinner on his precious "Traeger" grill. He liked to have an occasional cigar. Calvin would also, almost always, get to the gym first thing in the morning, even when he was away on vacation; it was his stress reliever. Calvin defined his life by the love he had for his family, friends, and community. He continued that spirit of love and giving even after his passing, having donated what he could to Gift of Life Michigan. Hopefully, saving or prolonging someone else's life even as we grieve for his.
