In Loving Memory of Camden David Bunner May 13, 1933 – June 13, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Camden David Bunner, who departed this life on June 13, 2025, at the age of 92. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Camden was a man whose quiet strength, unwavering faith and love for his family left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
Born on May 13, 1933, in
Fairmont, WV Camden grew up with a deep appreciation for hard work and humble beginnings. From a young age, he understood the value of an honest day's labor and carried that ethic throughout his life, whether in his profession, his home, his military service or his community on Bunner Ridge.
At the heart of Camden's life was his love for the Lord. His faith was not merely something he professed-it was a guiding force in everything he did. A faithful member of the Mt. Nebo Church of Christ, he lived his beliefs daily through acts of kindness, quiet service and steadfast devotion.
Above all, Camden cherished his family. He was a pillar of strength, wisdom and love. The true patriarch of his family. He delighted in the warmth of family gatherings, good company and the simple joy of being surrounded by those he loved most. He taught by example, loving deeply, working diligently and living faithfully.
He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Franklin Bunner, his mother Margaret Opal Bunner, sisters Betty Jean Graves (Walter), Dorthae Mae Stewart (Jess), Geraldine Morris (George), and Patricia Rush (Harold "Bucky"), brothers in law Lowell Robe, Leo Cottrell and Joseph Perkins and sister in laws Anna Lee Robe Terry and Sandra Bunner. He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Carolyn Eileen Bunner, brother Edwin Lee Bunner, and sister Nancy Cottrell, sisters in law Linda Perkins and Louella Robe as well as many nieces and nephews.
His legacy will continue with two children, son Franklin Theodore Bunner (Virginia Kay) and daughter Camelia Ann Kline (Troy). As well as his five grandchildren, Charles Bunner (Dorothea), Brandy Miller (Mark), Kimberly Hamilton (Adam), Seth Kline (Alyssa) and Faith Lough (Jacob).
Camden always enjoyed the laughter of his grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren. All of which will carry forward his legacy of love, faith and hard work.
Family and friends can gather at Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm and then Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm. Evangelist Kevin Lough will be officiating, and a burial will follow at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Bunner Ridge, with full military rites officiated by Marion County Honor Guard and Camp Dawson.
"Well done, thy good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23
