North Haverhill, NH- Camille L. Roy, 85, passed away in the comfort of his own home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
He was born on November 2, 1939, to Elie Roy and Germaine (Lamarre) Roy.
He grew up in Bath at the old Roy homestead with his 16 siblings. After graduating from high school, he went on to be the first Roy boy to attend a trade school located in Manchester, NH. He had multiple carpentry jobs until he owned his own carpentry business. He ended his career at Royal Electric.
Over the years, he enjoyed hunting and fly fishing, sharing his tips with many. He enjoyed his many trips to Canada, rabbit hunting with his beagles, and spending time at his camp off Tewksbury. He always had a love for dancing and bluegrass music. He enjoyed the many years of volunteering at the North Haverhill Fair and the North Haverhill Senior Center. He loved all the people he met along the way. In 2022, he received the Older Adult Volunteer award from Governor John Sununu for Grafton County. He cherished the time he spent with his son Craig during his long racing career.
In more recent years, he came to enjoy the endless hours spent sitting on his nephew Paul and wife Alice's front porch, watching the traffic and doing his word search puzzles. He sure had a soft spot for their pups, Sandy & Maggie. His favorite day of the year was the annual Roy family picnic. Camille was part of the grilling team, flipping hamburgers and hot dogs for everyone to enjoy.
After 36 years, he is now reunited with the love of his life, Margaret Roy. He is also predeceased by his parents, Elie and Germaine Roy; his sisters, Rita Lackie, Louise Forcier, Irene Guilmette, Anne-Marie Dauphinais; and his brothers, Martin Roy, Fernand Roy, Paul Roy, Victor Roy, Patrick Roy, Ernest Roy, Norman Roy, Roger Roy, Richard Roy and nephew, Peter Roy.
He is survived by his son, Craig Roy, and wife Denise; his daughter, Christine Hudson; Grandchildren, Daniel Roy and wife Alexis, Kenneth Hudson, Kolonie Hudson; great-granddaughter, Elaina Roy; his siblings, Bernard Roy and wife Betty Ann, Philip Roy and wife Patricia, and Clement Roy; his in-laws, Jean Roy, Joyce Roy, Louise Roy, and Sandy Roy; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Haverhill Senior Center, Attention Meals on Wheels, 91 Horse Meadow Rd, North Haverhill, NH 03774.
There will be a graveside service honoring Camille's life on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 1 PM at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Bath, NH.
