Camille Kelly "CoCo/Grandma" Slater, age 67, passed away on November 11, 2025, in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Born on August 9, 1958, St. Paul Minnesota, Camille brought joy and energy to all who knew her. Camille was a vibrant soul whose presence lit up every room she entered. Known affectionately as "CoCo" or simply "Grandma," she was beloved for her bubbly personality and spirited nature. Her laughter was infectious, and her heart was always open-ready to help anyone in need without hesitation.
She is survived by her life partner Mark Grabitski, devoted mother, Dorothy Slater; her loving children, son Nicholas James Slater, and daughter Brittany Elizabeth Meier; and her cherished siblings Cynthia Daniels, Kevin Slater, and Robin Storlie. Camille's legacy lives on through her nine grandchildren-Cody, Mackenzi, Dominic, Cyenna, Lily, Sullivan, Braylon, Harley, and Cooper-and three great-grandchildren, Eliza, Mason, and Grayson. She also leaves behind many other dear friends and extended family members who will miss her deeply.
Camille was preceded in death by her father Jerome Francis Slater; siblings Jerry Lee Slater and Kimberly Slater; and daughter Brooke LaRae Resendez. She also joins many other loved ones who have gone before her. From a young age, Camille embraced life with enthusiasm. As a teenager, she marched proudly with APEC Marching of Cottage Grove-a memory that remained close to her heart. Her love for sports continued into adulthood as she played softball with the "Buzzz Broads" and the "Red Rock Saloon" teams. Whether on the field or cheering from the sidelines, Camille brought passion and camaraderie wherever she went. Her zest for life extended far beyond sports.
Camille found peace near the ocean and joy in traveling to new places. She had a green thumb that flourished in her garden and a competitive streak that came alive during dart games. Grilling was another of her favorite pastimes, often turning simple meals into memorable gatherings filled with laughter and love. Above all else, Camille treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were truly the light of her life. Her home was always open to them-and to anyone who needed comfort or support. She had an extraordinary gift for making people feel seen, heard, and loved. Camille's generous spirit touched countless lives over the years. Whether offering a helping hand or sharing a heartfelt laugh, she made everyone feel like family.
May Camille Kelly Slater's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her-and may her legacy of kindness live on through each life she touched.
