She was an artist living and creating outside the lines, unapologetically herself. Wife of James Kershner, mother to Suzan and Richard and step mother to Chris.
Caren was born in 1941 in Denver Colorado to Jeannette and Earl McGowen. She grew up in Los Alamos NM where both of her parents and later her husband worked for the Lab. Caren married James D Kershner on June 27, 1963 in Los Alamos. Caren and James moved to and lived their lives out in Santa Fe, NM.
