It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Carie Heidlebaugh (nee Westfal),
who left us on February 4, 2025 at the age of 48.
Carie lived her early years in the Plymouth-Canton area where she was a graduate of
Plymouth Salem High School. She worked for many years in the metals industry before
transitioning into tax services where she enjoyed working with her coworkers and
developed many friendships with customers.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and beloved dog Jasper; movie night
out with the girls, boating on Kent Lake, reading, challenging puzzles and an occasional
visit to the casino.
Carie is survived by her loving husband, Eric Heidlebaugh, her parents, Clarence
(predeceased) & Pamela Westfal; sister Cheri Westfal (Jeff Donovan) of Glen Ellyn IL,
brother, Craig (Jean) Westfal of Traverse City, MI; mother-in-law Sherry Heidlebaugh,
sister-in-law Leah (Paul) Smentowski; nieces and nephews Hannah, Jordan, Caitlin and
Ethan.
A Mass will be held Friday, February 14, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 830 S
Lafayette St., South Lyon MI, at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow located at the South Lyon
Hotel, 201 N Lafayette St, South Lyon, MI. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to the
American Cancer Society.
