Carl Barnhart Obituary

Carl W. "Joe" Barnhart, 84, of Mt. Pleasant Twp. (Bridgeport), passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025. Carl was born July 2, 1940, in Hammondville, the son of the late Carl R. and Evalyn Hebenthal Barnhart. Carl attended Ramsay High School and Connellsville Area High School. He was a member of Bridgeport United Methodist and was formally employed as a cabinet maker by Smith & Grabiak Cabinet Co, Volkswagen of America and the Mt. Pleasant School District. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Ramsey Barnhart; his children, Carl Alan Barnhart; and wife, Marcia of Uniontown; Lori Jo Unger and her husband Ronald of Bridgeport and Lisa Marie Razza and her husband Dennis of New Derry; grandchildren, Brooke Gall and her husband Zach and Blaire Barnhart and Fiance Logan Hauserman, Colton and Carter Unger and Reed and Ramsey Razza and a great-grandchild, Benjamin Gall; step-grandchildren, David Ross and his wife Kaitlin, and Kelly Ross; and a sister, Janet Stone. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Arvetta McCloy and husband Richard, Hazel Ruschal and husband Frank, Betty Zahrobsky and husband Louis, Norma McCloy and husband Merritt, Doris Myers and husband Ken; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Barnhart and wife Janice, Neil Barnhart and wife Ella, Edwin Stone; and a brother in infancy, Jimmy Barnhart. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday at SLATER-REGA FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC, 730 W. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, where services will be held at 11 a.m Thursday, with Rev. Tim Auer officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlick Cemetery.
