Carl Davis Bonner Jr.

1956 - 2025

Carl Davis Bonner, age 68, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at his home in Hiawassee, Ga. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Carl D Bonner, Sr and Mildred Jones Bonner on June 16, 1956. Carl graduated from Ridgeway High School in Memphis in 1974 then went on to receive an undergraduate degree (1978) and a graduate degree in Computer Science (1986) from the University of Tennessee. He also held a Masters of Divinity Degree (1980) from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He was an avid Tennessee fan, bleeding orange 51 weeks with one week of green during the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta. He was a tournament volunteer for 25 years which was the highlight of his year. He was currently employed by Yardi Systems in a position that gave him fulfillment and satisfaction. Carl loved Jesus. He loved his wife, his family and friends and always strove to do the right thing. He will be remembered for his character, integrity and an unsurpassed work ethic.

Carl was predeceased by his parents, his in-laws, Billy and Betty Dunaway, and a brother, William B Bonner, Sr.

Surviving his loss are his wife of 46 years, Pamela Dunaway Bonner; sons Tyler (Sara) Bonner of Loganville, Ga and Russell (Kyleah) Bonner of North Augusta, SC. Granddaughters Anna Bounds, Eatonton, Ga; Emma and Evelyn Bonner of Loganville, Ga and Alayna Anne Bonner of North Augusta, SC. One brother, Thomson (Devin) Bonner of Baton Rouge, La and a sister, Margaret Anne Bonner of Lake Providence, LA. as well as many very loved and cherished extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 29th at Thomas Poteet & Sons Funeral Directors with Reverend Joseph Pritchett officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 10 a.m. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jermel Bennett, Will Dunaway, Alec Purdie, Reid Sanders, Brandon Satcher, and Walton Satcher.
