Carl R. Boso, a proud veteran of the US Army and longtime resident of Grove City, Ohio, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on June 13, 2024, surrounded by family. Carl was born December 17, 1941, to Clyde J. & Arline A. (Shadford) Boso and attended South High School. He had 8 brothers and 3 sisters and grew up on the south side of Columbus.
Carl was drafted into the US Army and served in the Vietnam War as an infantryman. He served honorably and was awarded a Purple Heart. He married the love of his life, Barbara (Wood) in 1978 and shared 45 years of marriage.
Carl was an active member of Faith Baptist Church, Commercial Point, Ohio for over 40 years.
Anyone who knew Carl knows that he was an avid fisherman. For decades his family and extended family enjoyed annual summer vacations on Sand Lake in Ontario, Canada where many wonderful memories were made. Carl fished as much as possible and especially enjoyed days when he would leave at dawn and return to the cabin after dark.
He was fond of home projects and gardening. He was known for the roses and lilies that bordered his yard for many years. He loved making his little corner of the world beautiful for all to enjoy.
Carl was a hard worker and his family considered him to be the strongest and toughest man they've ever known. He was relentless in his battle with cancer and fought until the very end.
Carl was proceeded in death by: parents, Clyde J. Boso and Arline A. Boso; and siblings, Charles W. Boso, Dorothy C. Boso, Robert L. Boso, Eugene J. Boso, Donald A. Boso, Ralph E. Boso, Arline J. Reis, James R. Boso, Clyde J. Boso, and Rosan E. Boso.
He is survived by: his wife, Barbara J. Boso; son, Andrew R. (Liza) Boso; daughters, Linda J. (Matt) Henry, Diane L. Sheets, Brenda K. (Doug) Simmons, Julie A. (Roland) Schwarz; sister, Loretta J. (Larry) Anderson, as well as ten grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service for Carl on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 4 pm at Faith Baptist Church, 10701 Welch Road, Commercial Point, Ohio. The family will lay him to rest at Franklin Hills Cemetery, Canal Winchester, Ohio with military honors in a private graveside service.
