Mr. Lamar Carl Clark, 86, of Holcomb, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 at his residence. He was born July 22, 1939 in Carroll County to Lamar Quincy Clark and Sammie Ercile Garrard Clark. Carl enjoyed a long, successful career with the Illinois Central Railroad. Following retirement from the railroad, Carl was far from finished with work. Carl was a cattle farmer for many years and also worked alongside his wife in their convenience store and famed restaurant, Sue's Catfish, on Highway 35 South of Holcomb. Carl loved his work and deeply loved his family. He also loved his dogs, Roscoe and Judy. He was a founding member of Dogwood Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 7, 2026 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Carroll County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Saturday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Clark and a sister, Polly Carver of Brandon.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sunday Lorraine Clark; sons, Lamar Carl Clark, II and Michael Lee Clark; sisters, Ercile Wigley, Mary Jane Hammons and Sarah Sellers; and brothers, James Ed Clark and Ted Clark.

Pallbearers will be Marshall Wade Estes, Gary Chapman, Mark Clark, Berry Garrard and Danny Rogers.
