Carl was born June 23, 1937, in Marion, the son of John and Clara (Kuehn) Dahmer. He grew up on the family farm, where his love for the land and animals began. Carl is survived by his daughters, Connie and her husband Terry, and Brenda; three grandchildren, Adam (Samantha), Trudy, and John (Miranda); two great grandchildren: Church and Rhett; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents; his sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Lee Hamilton; brothers- and sisters-in-law, James Carlynn) Springs, and Wilma Dell Springs, Charles and Murl Springs, Ruth and Harold Maynard, and Nancy Rose and Jim (Red) Carter; nephew, Jerry Hamilton; and nieces, Beth Miller and Bekki Miller.
