Carl Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Whitt Funeral Home & Oakcrest Cremation Center on Feb. 26, 2026.
Carl Wayne Davis, 66, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on February 23, 2026. He was born on August 18, 1959, in Duncan to Kenneth Davis and Ora (Stewart) Love, who instilled in him the values of hard work and grit that shaped his life.
A memorial service is planned for 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 28, in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Carl spent more than 40 years on the road as a long-haul cow trucker, a job he not only mastered but genuinely loved. He was known for his reliability, his steady hands behind the wheel, and the friendships he built across countless miles of highway. When he wasn't trucking, Carl was a dedicated farmer, tending the land with the same determination he brought to every part of his life.
Rodeo was one of Carl's greatest passions. He competed in calf roping and team roping for many years, earning numerous buckles and the respect of fellow cowboys. The arena was a place where he felt truly at home-surrounded by good horses, good friends, and the thrill of competition.
In later years, Carl embraced a quieter rhythm. He enjoyed fishing, watching classic western movies, working through crossword puzzles, reading western novels, and spending time outdoors shooting. These simple pleasures brought him joy, and he will be remembered for his strong work ethic and cowboy spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Donna Jones and Debbie; and brothers: Sherril Dennis and Randy Dennis.
Survivors include his children: Brittney Davis and husband Raymond Lauck, Carl Davis Jr., Clarrisa Davis, Davina Sullivan and husband Donald Sullivan; 7 grandchildren; brother, Ray Collins; and sisters: Anita Holsom, Patty Hammond, and Loetta Airington.
