Family and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Monday, December 29th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach St., Revere for Carl C. DeStefano, who passed away on December 23rd at 85 years of age. His Funeral will be conducted from the Funeral home on Tuesday, December 30th at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Michael the Archangel Parish – St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St. Winthrop at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Winthrop Cemetery – Belle Isle Section, Winthrop.

Carl was born on March 30th, 1940 and is the son of the late Joseph and Anita (Marshall) DeStefano. He spent his early years growing up and attending schools in Revere. He spent many years as a Winthrop resident after marrying Sheila M. (Barry) DeStefano. Carl was a retired firefighter in the City of Chelsea until his retirement. Following retirement, he and his wife Sheila would spend winters in Florida for over 15 years before taking fulltime residence there. As his wife became ill, the couple returned home to Massachusetts to be closer to family. His dear wife, Sheila, passed away only months ago. In his spare time, Carl cherished spending time with his family, cooking and he also enjoyed watching horse racing at the former Suffolk Downs.

He is the beloved husband of the late Sheila M. (Barry) DeStefano who passed away on October 2, 2025. Devoted father of Lisa Kirby and her husband Daniel of Peabody, William DeStefano and his partner Kathy Murphy of Peabody, Edward DeStefano and his partner Angela Williams of Revere, Janine Sujko of Revere and the late Carl DeStefano, Jr. and Danielle DiChiara. Cherished grandfather of Daniel Kirby, Jr. and his wife Kelly, Christopher Kirby and his wife Jessica Williams, Derek Kirby and his wife Lindsey, Nicole DeStefano, Christina DeStefano and Carlie DeStefano. He is the cherished great grandfather of many great grandchildren. Dear brother of Leonard DeStefano, Margaret Johnson, Louise Powers, Marie Lupio, Sylvia Moschetti, and the late Joseph DeStefano, Anita Vinciarelli and Anne Alongi. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.
