Carl E. Fiveash, 70, of Sellersburg, IN, lovingly known to many as "Chief Wahoo," at the age of 70. He peacefully left this world on January 27, 2025, at 10:01 PM at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. Born on June 13, 1954, in Memphis, Tennessee, Carl was the beloved son of the late Lorraine H. (Hunt) Fiveash and Charles Eden Fiveash, who survives in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Carl spent 29 years as a proud employee at LG&E before retiring after 21 years from United Electric. He was a dedicated provider and an incredibly hard worker, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and integrity. He was also a member of Mt. Moriah Christian Church and attended and active with Northside Christian Church.
A graduate of Henryville High School in 1972, Carl furthered his education at I.U. Southeast, earning his bachelor's degree in the late 1980s. Throughout his life, Carl demonstrated an insatiable intellect and was known for his ability to fix anything. A man of great wisdom, he always had the answer or the right tool for any challenge, and his love for learning never wavered.
Carl was a devoted family man and cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. He married his sweetheart, Charlene (Swisher) Fiveash, on March 2, 1974, at Mt. Moriah Christian Church. Their 50 years of love and partnership were a testament to their unwavering devotion to one another.
Carl had a passion for restoring classic muscle cars and enjoyed spending time reading the newspaper, solving crossword puzzles, and watching television. His sense of humor, sharp intellect, and deep love for his family will forever be remembered by those who knew him.
Carl is survived by his loving wife, Charlene; children, Clorisa Marie Fiveash-Adams of Sellersburg, IN, Christina L. (Travis) Collins of Clarksville, IN, and Carmon E. (April) Fiveash of Henryville, IN; 5 grandchildren, Skyelar Fiveash, Alexis Fiveash, Bryse Adams, Tristan Collins, and Caleb Fiveash; his father, Charles Eden Fiveash; two sisters, Yvonnie (Steve) Reep of Stone Mountain, Georgia, and Teresa McKinzie of Snellville, Georgia; and many extended family members and friends.
