Carl A. Frear, 82, of Lake Winola passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. At the time of his passing he was surrounded by loved ones encircled with love and prayer.
Born on October 2, 1943, in Lake Winola, he was the son of the late Alberta Jurista.
Throughout his life, Carl dedicated himself to his work as a general contractor. He worked on many cottages around the lake, building and repairing them with great attention to detail. His craftsmanship was well-known among the local community, and many homeowners trusted him for their renovation projects.
An active member of the Lake Winola community, Carl was a proud lifetime member of the Lake Winola Fire Company. He was also a member of the Lake Winola United Methodist Church.
He found joy in camping, traveling, and hunting, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and create lasting memories with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Ellen Garcia and husband Aaron, Nickie Haines and husband Phil; son, Mark Frear and wife Hilary; sister, Carol Day; grandchildren, Nicholas, Colin, Cory, Travis, Chase, Carter, and Hailey.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Frear, in 2020 and sister, Caroline Drew.
Family and friends are invited to attend Carl's funeral service which will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11:30 AM at the Lake Winola United Methodist Church, 326 Maple Drive, Dalton, PA 18414 with Pastor Jenny Woods presiding.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
