Joseph F. Stroka, Jr., 87, of Tunkhannock passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Joan (Vogrin) Stroka.
Born on May 6, 1938, in Noxen, he is the son of the late Joseph and Isabell (Kristunas) Stroka, Sr.
Joe spent his youth growing up in Eaton Twp. working alongside his father and brother in the family business, Stroka Sales and Services.
He graduated from Tunkhannock High School and then served his country in the United States Army Corps. He was also a member of the Nativity BVM Church.
Joe went on to work with the boilermakers for over 40 years and was a member of the National Transit Union.
From an early age Joe's passion was fixing anything with a motor. He loved going to car races all over including Dayton Beach. He was also a mechanic for John Davenport's and his brothers-in-law, Don Vogrin's racing cars at the Herb Harvey Speed Way.
Two things Joe was proud of were restoring his Uncle John Stroka's Model A Coupe and his dad's Ford tractor. He was involved with the yearly John and Bill Stroka antique car parade each year and the Antique Tractor Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by brother, Robert Stroka of Tunkhannock.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William Stroka; sister, Janet Smith.
Family and friends are invited to attend Joseph's funeral services which will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 4:00 PM from the Marcho, Sheldon, and Kukuchka Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657. Interment will be held in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
A viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until the time of service on Monday.
