Carl Friberg Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crawford / Ray Funeral Home on Oct. 28, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Carl George Friberg, 40, devoted son of his father and Lord Jesus Christ and a shining example of love, kindness, and grace, went home unexpectedly to be with the Lord on Friday, October 10, 2025.

Carl lived his life with love - his heart full of faith and generosity- always ready to give up or do anything if he thought he was helping someone. His love for others knew no limits. Carl always saw the good in everyone and forgave freely ("I love you and I forgive you"), just as he knew Christ had forgiven him.

Unconcerned with worldly things, he lived simply. He lived freely. He was who he was - joyfully guided by unwavering faith, finding wonder, beauty, and grace in all that God created- great and small alike. Constantly capturing insect and animal intruders just to release them back to the great outdoors to continue living. Known as the 'Dogfather,' nothing could compare to the love he had for his beloved dogs.

Those who KNEW him will never forget his free nature- so comfortable in his own skin. His gratitude- always thankful for the ones who were there, the ones who showed up along his journey. His smile could light up the darkest of days. Always thankful to God for everything- every road trip, every meal, each and every day he woke- always mindful to thank God because he knew that tomorrows are never promised.

Carl loved anything involving being outside and close to nature- earning the top honor of Eagle Scout early in life, he received acknowledgment from the Department of the Interior. Born with a natural ability for athleticism and outdoorsmanship, Carl loved fishing, swimming (with an affinity for diving), camping, hiking (especially off the beaten trail), bonfires, he also enjoyed snowboarding and skiing in the winter. He was a natural survivalist-no such thing as getting lost in the woods for him!

Graduating among the top of his class from Pisgah Senior High, he was a star soccer player and a master of the alto saxophone, displaying his talents in both the marching and jazz bands. Active in church activities, he participated in many mission trips, helping repair and build homes for people who were in need.

Anyone who knew Carl for the man he was will remember his legacy of faith, forgiveness, and unconditional love for others.

Carl is preceded in death by his father, Dan A. Friberg.

Carl is survived by his mother, Deborah Friberg; his brother Daniel Friberg and his wife Celine; his sisters Samantha Friberg and Shawna Williamson, and nephews and nieces, Sawyer, Avery, Eli, Dante', Joseph Brandon (JB), Xavia, and Shawn.

Although Carl's earthly journey has ended, his spirit lives on in the hearts and souls of all the people he touched. He has, with all confidence, moved on to the eternal joy of paradise- heaven.

For some, there are no words to describe the void left that only he could fill- Comfort comes with knowing that he is at peace, surrounded by the love that he shared so freely during his short time with us on earth. We can all allow his spirit to live on in the kindness we show, the forgiveness we offer, and the love that we give to others- just as he taught us.

A celebration of life service to honor Carl will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, November 2, 2025, in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. ANY and ALL are invited to attend, as Carl was a man of the people.
