John Friberg III

?John Friberg, 70, a long-time resident of Marble Falls, passed from this life to the next on March 25 at his home. John was born to John and Margaret Nabers Friberg on February 14, 1950, in Midland, Texas.John loved all types of competitions, but he especially loved baseball and football and was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and the Texas Aggies. He was a member of the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M and later served eight years in the Army National Guard and Reserves. After graduation from Tarleton State College, John was employed by the Lower Colorado River Authority and worked at Thomas C. Ferguson power plant until his retirement in 2007. During his thirty-three years there, John made many lifelong friends throughout the LCRA network. After retirement, he became especially interested in photography and traveled all over Texas taking scenic pictures and eating barbeque.Although John had many outside interests, his greatest treasure was his relationship with God and his family. John met Janet Baker at Tarleton State College. They were best friends and sweethearts throughout their college years. They married after college and recently celebrated 46 years together. John could never get enough time with his children Ben and Katie. He went to every event he could attend from ball games to class parties. He especially loved taking the family on camping excursions all over the United States exploring, discovering, and making great memories. He adored his grandsons Samuel and Jacob. There wasn't anything he would not do for them. John and Jan have been members of the Marble Falls Church of Christ for many years. John's faith in God's promises brought him through to the end.John is survived by his wife Janet of Marble Falls; his son Ben of Round Rock, Texas; his daughter Katie Lynch and husband Cody of Hamilton, Texas; his grandsons Samuel Cody and Jacob John Lynch of Hamilton, Texas; his sister Charlotte Morris of Tarpon Springs, Florida; his sister-in-law Donna New of San Antonio, Texas; his brother-in-law Barney Baker and wife LaDawn of Burnet, Texas; his brother-in-law Major General Darrel Baker and wife Linda of Iola, Texas; his sister-in-law Pat Ellett and husband James of Liberty Hill, Texas; his sister-in-law Welda Williams and husband Wendell of Brownwood, Texas; and a small army of beloved nieces and nephews.Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Gary Alderman, Jerry Cunningham, Bert Martinez, Phil Barnett, J. T. Benton, and John Whittle.A celebration of life is pending.
