Carl William was Scoutmaster for Troop 61. 29 Scouts earned their Eagle under Mr. Gittings. All of his Scouts, those who earned Eagle and those who didnt, are people he loved and was proud of. He thought of all of those Scouts as his own.
His own children have all earned or will soon earn their Eagles, and made him proud every day.
Carl Williams impact on our community was vast, and his passing has left a hole in many hearts.
Carl William was the kind of man who others strive to be. He was honest and generous. He gave to others before taking for himself. Our world needs more people like him, and hopefully those on whom he made an impact will carry his legacy forward.
Many people have expressed how much joy and passion he gave to them, but he would say that they have it backwards; each of those who knew him gave him more joy, happiness, and love than he could have ever given.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
