Carl Milton Hunter, age 91, of Baxley passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025 at Appling Healthcare under the care of Comfort Care Hospice.

Mr. Hunter was born December 19, 1933 in Baxley to the late Henry Edison and Luna Carter Hunter. He was employed by the Appling County Board of Education as a school bus driver for 51 years and was also a lifelong farmer. He was a devoted husband to JoAnn Hunter for 70 years and loving father to Randy (Linda) Hunter and Tanya (Jeff) Williams of Baxley and Ramey (Jennifer) Hunter of Forsyth. Throughout his life, Mr. Hunter offered kindness, wisdom and a steady presence to those around him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his five sisters and five brothers.

Along with his loving wife and three children, survivors include grandchildren, Crystal (Dallas) LeDuff, Landry (Celine) Hunter, Mackenzie (Kristi) Williams, Matt (Hannah) Hunter, Hunter (Ashley) Williams, Chelsea (Kevin) Powell; and great grandchildren, Avery LeDuff, Davis LeDuff, Carter Hunter, Walker Hunter, John Thomas Kile, Will Bennett, Hudson Hunter, Hollis Hunter, Hartlie Hunter, Adeline Williams, Owen Williams, Benson Powell, Lawson Powell and Eason Powell.

Though he may be gone, his stories, lessons and love will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends and we will hold him close in our heart always.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Williamson, Rev. Ron Ross and Rev. Brannen Pate officiating. Interment will follow in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include Matt Hunter, Hunter Williams, Jimmy Hunter, James Hunter, Dallas LeDuff and Landry Hunter.

Honorary pallbearers include all in attendance.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Midway Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Midway Baptist Church 174 Midway Church Road, Baxley, GA 31513.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
