We were blessed to be able to meet Carl at his daughter, Wendy´s, wedding a few months earlier celebrating. He was such a proud father.
God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Mr. Larsen, as we knew him, was my high school English teacher (somewhere around 1969 or 70 or so), but he was far more than that to me. He was the funniest man alive, and one of the only people in my life who "saw" me and treated me with a level of respect and understanding that few others I've known have ever possessed.
As a teacher he was like a master magician who had every student in my class captivated by some invisible mystical power he wielded. Full attention from everyone. One fine day, he gave us an in-class writing assignment that somehow required our FULL attention no matter what, and we all glued our awareness to our individual desks, papers, pens, under penalty of some non-existent repercussion if we did otherwise...
Meantime, there was an awful lot of noise coming from the closet in the back of the classroom, rumbling and fumbling sounds... but no one dared look behind them to see what was going on.
As soon as that was over, Mr. Larsen called 'time's up' on the assignment and bounced up to the front of the room wearing an entirely different outfit-- baseball, I think. He had changed his clothes while all of us were nose to the desks!!!
No one else could've pulled that one off. And it still makes me laugh. He was indeed a magician in so many ways. He knew I needed to laugh not just because he was sooooo hilariously funny, but also because I needed to.
I will be forever grateful for having him in my life.
All Blessings, all Love to you, Carl Larsen...
