Carl J. Oddo, 99, of Williams Township, passed away Friday, November 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 2, 1925, in Easton, PA, he was a son of the late Domenic and Concetta (Gerbino) Oddo.
He and his wife, Claire Carol (Fretz) Oddo, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 5, 2024.
Carl was a 1943 graduate of Easton High School, Class of 1943, and the Hotel Training School in Washington, DC.
He retired April 1, 1987, from Ingersoll Rand Company where he was employed for 27 years. He had been a consultant for the former Alderidge Pump Division of Allentown.
Carl served from 1943-1946 as a First Class Seaman with the Coast Guard during World War II.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, swimming at the YMCA, and years ago, camping and hunting with family, and making his homemade wine. He was a former Cub Scout leader and first male PTA president in Pennsylvania.
Carl was an active member of St. John's Church on Morgan Hill where he was a former elder, deacon and treasurer of the building fund. He was a life member of the Citizens Hose Company and a member of Rice Ebner American Legion Post #588.
In addition to his wife, Claire, he is survived by a son, Robert C. Oddo and his wife Ellen, of Williams Township; a daughter, Lynda Weller and her husband Gregory, of Nazareth; three grandchildren, Nicholas Oddo, Ryan Oddo and his wife Sylvia, and Melyssa Giangarlo and her husband Timothy; and a great-grandson, Nathan. He was predeceased by a brother, Samuel Oddo, and three sisters, Sadie O. Kline, Teresa Oddo and Mary O. Williams.
Services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, November 6th, in St. John's Church on Morgan Hill, 2720 Morgan Hill Rd., Williams Township. Call Wednesday 1-2pm in the church. Burial will be in St. John's Union Cemetery. The Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Easton, is in charge of arrangements. Offer online condolences at www.strunkfh.com.
