Carl F. Phillips

Carl F. Phillips, 97 of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on February 23, 2025, due to Alzheimer's disease.
Born in New York City in 1928, he moved to British Guiana at age three due to his father's illness and was raised by his aunt. He returned to New York as an adult and served as a Master Sergeant in the Army National Guard. After working as a pressman and foreman in a die-cutting business, he became the Plant Supervisor. He and his first wife, Lorraine Niles, raised four sons: David, Dennis, Joseph, and Carl.
After Lorraine's passing, Carl sold his house and moved to Virginia Beach, where he later married Yvonne Smith. After Yvonne's death, he lived alone with the support of his youngest son, Carl, and his wife, Lecia. In his final years, he resided in a home for Alzheimer's care.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Randolph Phillips and Lilian Maud Phillips, Lorraine, Yvonne, Clifford, David, and is survived by his sons, Dennis, Joseph, and Carl, and their children: David, Thavma, Calease, Joseph, Alexander, Felipe, Carl, Monique, Louis, Alex His great-grandchildren are Miriam, Jordyn, Reilly, Casey, and Rain.
Carl's funeral will be held on March 5, 2025, at 10 AM in Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY 10595.
