Passed away suddenly on November 7, 2025, at the age of 64.

Beloved husband and best friend of Rita for 35 wonderful years. Devoted and proud father of Alexander. Cherished son of the late Harry and Trudy Robare, and loving son-in-law of Benny and Victoria Valente, who were like second parents to him. Dear brother of Sherry and the late Mari. Treasured uncle of Stephanie Newby (Steve), Lauren Valente, Michael Valente, and Madelyn Dedaj (Peter), and a proud, loving great-uncle to thirteen great-nieces and great-nephews. Also lovingly remembered by his in-laws Tony and Lisa Valente and Maria Darbonne (fiancé Al DeBoni), along with many cousins and dear friends who enriched his life.

Carl grew up in the Detroit area, where he built lifelong friendships and a love for exploring the world around him. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as an engineer with Verizon, where his dedication and easygoing nature earned him the respect and friendship of many colleagues.

Some of Carl and Rita's recent favorite memories were made exploring the beauty of Alaska and the charm of Traverse City. At home, Carl found peace and happiness in nature. Whether hiking through a wooded trail, tending his garden, or simply enjoying a quiet evening outdoors, he appreciated life's simple pleasures. His flower beds, fig tree, and vegetable gardens were a reflection of his patient, nurturing spirit.

Above all, Carl was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. His gentle heart, warm smile, and sense of humor made everyone feel at ease. Those who knew him will remember his kindness, his love for good conversation, and his steady, dependable presence.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m., at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 E. Fifteen Mile, Sterling Heights, MI.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Community Food Bank of Macomb County-organizations that reflect Carl's caring nature and lifelong compassion for others.
