Carl Shearer Obituary

He found his home in New York City, when he moved there in 1964 after traveling there from California for the World's Fair. He quickly fell in love with the city. He met his wife Sheila and they eventually started their family and found a home in Northern Virginia.
In his retirement, he moved to the Lehigh Valley to be near his son and grandchildren. He traveled frequently to visit the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City.
Carl is survived by a son Thomas (Gail) of Macungie, PA and four grandchildren: Rachael, Luke, Miriam, and Matthew. And a sister Joanne Pagni (Frank) of Grants Pass, Oregon.
Services will be held privately at the family's convenience. Stephens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In Lieu of Flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center, 522 West Maple Street
at Bayard Rustin Way Allentown, PA 18101-2106.

Carl was my realtor and was really good at his job. He took care of his clients and would rather go the extra mile with each customer than achieve tremendous volume. He was a nice guy and was very intelligent with impressive knowledge on many subjects. Rest in peace, Carl!

We knew Carl through his membership with Dignity/Washington and enjoyed his humor and his easy manner. Since his move to Pennsylvania we'd lost contact with him but that does not subtract from the many happy encounters we had with him over the years.
