Carl Shoemaker 1927-2025
Raised in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia, Carl was a founding partner in the Forman-Shoemaker Photography Studio. After graduating from Overbrook High, Carl served in the Navy. He later married Sara Rosenberg. After trying his hand at sales, Carl settled into a long career in the field of photography. He specialized in producing beautiful memories for generations of families. He was well regarded in his field, especially by his clients who appreciated his charm and the quality of his work.
Carl and Sara travelled extensively. Carl enjoyed planning their trips almost as much as the trips themselves. Of course, the photos were amazing and the memories would last a lifetime.
Carl was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Sara, his former partner Barbara Kay and his brothers Al and Bernie.
Carl is survived by his daughter Joan Sebastian (Jeffrey), his son Robert Shoemaker (Marcy), his loving grandchildren Julie, Andrew, Steven and Zoe, and his sister-in-law Phyllis Rosenberg.
Also surviving Carl is his longtime partner Marcia Kahn, her daughters Debbie, Susie, Andrea and their extended families.
Carl lived a wonderful long life full of joy.
