Carl Raymond Venable, passed away at his home on June 2, 2025, at the age of 87. Carl was born on November 26, 1937, in Wilmington, Delaware to Frank and Margerite Lunn Venable. He was a graduate of Stony Brook Academy in Stony Brook, NY, and then from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's Degree. Carl went on to become a beloved teacher who spent over 30 years shaping young minds at Olean New York Middle School. He later continued his impact on education for another decade with the Lafayette County School System before finally hanging up his teaching hat at the age of 85. In his downtime, you could usually find Carl enjoying his favorite pastimes, whether it was out on the water fishing, knocking down pins while bowling, or cheering on his beloved Florida Gators and Tampa Bay Rays.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, John Venable.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00PM on June 6, 2025, at the Mayo First Assembly of God with Rev. Daryl Fletcher & Rev. Dale Croft officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.
