Carla Marie Radus Brahm, age 67 of Monroeville, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Born March 4, 1956 in Wilkinsburg, she is survived by her sons, Nick (Jackie Stange) Brahm, and Corey (Heather) Brahm. Her grandchildren, Wade and Wyatt Brahm, Scarlett Stange and Eloise Brahm, were the apples of her eye, and her love for them was boundless. Her siblings, Suzanne (Michael) Ament, Brian Radus, and Chris (Lynne Ferguson) Radus, will remember their sister as a pillar of strength and a wellspring of love. She was preceded by her loving parents Raymond J. and Cora (Pantalone) Radus, her brother, Don Radus and sister-in-law, Jan Radus.
Carla was a joyful soul, her laughter a melody that will echo in the hearts of her loved ones forever. She was an avid traveler, loved to cook and host for her loved ones, garden, and read. She was selfless, her love for others evident in her every action. Her most cherished role, however, was that of a loving mother and doting grandmother. She was in attendance at every soccer game, TBall match, hockey practice, and dance recital. She hosted epic sleepovers filled with baking bread and magic teas, hung out poolside soaking up sun and smiles, joined family for magical Disney vacations, and was always towing along a container of homemade wedding soup or spinach balls for the family to enjoy.
Carla's life was like a beautifully written play, filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. She was a woman who loved deeply, lived fully, and left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Her life was a testament to the power of love and dedication.
She served her community as a Medical Lab Technician for UPMC, retiring after over three and a half decades of steadfast service. Much like a character in one of Shakespeare's plays, she was a woman of many parts. Her professional life was a testament to her dedication and hard work, while her personal life revealed her love for travel, the arts, and theater. Her passion for cooking and eating, much like her love for reading, was a beloved trait that brought joy to those around her.
The world will remember Carla Marie Radus Brahm as a woman of grace, love, and laughter. Her life was an ode to the beauty of human connection, the joy of shared experiences, and the power of love. Her absence on this earth will leave a devastating void, but her legacy will live on in all those who knew and loved her.
So, let us not mourn her departure but celebrate her life. Carla Marie Radus Brahm, a life well-lived, a love well-given, a legacy well-earned. Her story continues in the hearts of those she loved, and her memory shall be a keepsake treasured forever.
Family and friends will be received for a memorial visitation on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to The Women's Center & Shelter of Pittsburgh or to the Greater Community Food Bank. www.jobefuneralhome.com
