Carla was a devoted waitress at Langford and Sylvan Park restaurants in downtown Nashville for many years. She was lovingly called "Nannie" by all her many children that she prepared famous Sunday dinners consisting of Homemade chicken and dumplings, turnip greens, fresh fried corn, skillet cornbread and sweet tea.
Preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Robert Lee Holman, Sr., son: Robert Lee Holman,,Jr, sons-in-law: James Shelby and Rodger Taylor, step-father: Paul Rosh, sisters: Esther Myers, Lois Hengst, Isabella Boettcher and brother Robert Ritz.
She is survived by her daughters: Brenda Shelby and Pam Taylor, grandchildren: Justin Shelby, Jim Shelby (Kim), Candice Nickens (Kevin), Austin Taylor (April), great-grandchildren: Cody, Brittany, Ashlee, Jaeci, Rodger, Joseph, Abigal, great-great-grandchildren; Emily, Aubrey, Brennan, Braitynn, Lucy, Michael, Paislee, and Onyx, sister, Betty Ness and extended family Angie Hogan, Pam Vaden and several nieces and nephews.
Nannie's favorite response to anyone that told her they love her.."I love you more".
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, June 14, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Ronnie Binkley officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Brittany Shelby, Jim Shelby, Jeff Holman, Steve Holman, Cody Larsen, Austin Taylor, Adam Taylor and Austin Avalos serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 11 am until 2 pm on June 14, 2024, at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
