Carlis Everette Albritton, a cherished member of the Atmore community, passed away in the comfort of his home on August 16, 2025, at the age of 93. Carlis was born on April 19, 1932, in Atmore, Alabama. He was married to Lucille Donaldson Albritton, his loving wife of 73 years. Born to James Frank and Mary Jane Barlow Albritton, Carlis was a beloved husband, son, brother, father, and grandfather. He proudly served his country in the 711 th Battalion of the United States Army National Guard and went on to work for 31 years at Monsanto as an electrician, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. Carlis lived a full and joyful life and loved God to the fullest. He loved the simple pleasures: riding his bicycle around town, camping and fishing with his family, and cheering on his Alabama Crimson Tide. His faith was the cornerstone of his life and was a devout member of First Assembly of God in Atmore. He will be remembered not only for his contributions to his country and community, but also for the quiet moments of joy he found in life's simpler pleasures. Carlis's legacy is carried on by those who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents James Frank and Mary Jane Barlow Albritton, sisters Lily Mae Powell and Marie Baggett, daughter in law Debbie Albritton, and son in laws Terry Nix and Gus Stallings. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Lucille Donaldson Albritton, twin brother Charles Edward Albritton, sister Dolly Edgar, daughter Beth Stallings (friend Doug Guidry), and son Steve Albritton. He leaves behind 4 grandkids: Ryan (Leslie) Albritton, Kristopher Nix, Jessica Albritton, and Kyle (Haley) Albritton, and 4 great grandkids: Brea Rolin, Hudson Albritton, Allie Albritton, and Jocee Terhune. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC.
