Carlis Odell Sisson, 85, of North Richland Hills, passed away April 18, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Monday, April 21, 2025 at Burkhardt Chapel in Frederick, OK with burial to follow at Frederick Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 pm Saturday, April 19 at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller.

Carlis was born July 14, 1939 in Tishomingo, OK to "Tine" (Keith) and Thomas "Pete" Sisson. Carlis was a 1958 graduate of Davidson High School. He married his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Ruth Lowry on October 6, 1962 in Davidson, Oklahoma.

Carlis began his career as an agent with the Frisco Railroad in 1966. He worked for the railroad for 37 years and retired with the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe in 2003. Carlis enjoyed playing dominoes especially 42 and Pitch. He was a fierce competitor who could beat the best. Carlis spent many hours watching Texas Rangers baseball. His love for baseball was a lifelong enjoyment. He spent many years coaching his sons in baseball and studying the game.

Carlis spent his retirement years playing bluegrass music with family and friends. He was an accomplished musician who sang, played the guitar and Dobro. His favorite pastime was jamming and playing country, gospel, and bluegrass music with many different groups of seniors in the community.

Carlis was a Christian man who studied the Bible and was a believer. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church for many years and served as a deacon there where he served with is family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Pete and Tine Sisson his siblings David Sisson, Royce Sisson, and Sharon Sisson.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn Sisson; sons Carl Sisson (Lori )of Saint Johns, FL, Darrell Sisson (Andi) of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren Dani Duvall, Blake Sisson (Meaghan),Miranda Houff (Henry), Jake Sisson (Courtney) Lauren Heard (Peyton); great grandchildren, Landon Duvall, Isaac Duvall, Eleanor Houff, Evelyn Houff, Henry Houff III, Hayden Sisson, Harper Sisson, Huntlee Sisson; sister-in-law Beth Webb of Altus, OK and many nieces and nephews
